Our client is a well-established construction consultancy with a strong reputation for providing high-quality, independent cost and commercial advice.

Operating across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the north island, they are known for their collaborative approach, technical expertise, and long-term client relationships.


Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Senior QS to join their Auckland Team.

The Role

As a Senior QS, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of projects and services, delivering the full spectrum of professional Quantity Surveying expertise from feasibility through to final account.

You will work across a range of sectors including infrastructure, education, civic, health, and commercial developments, providing clear, accurate, and commercially sound advice to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources, materials, and labour.
  • Deliver end-to-end professional Quantity Surveying services across multiple projects
  • Prepare cost plans, estimates, and feasibility studies
  • Manage procurement, tendering, and contract administration processes
  • Provide robust financial reporting, forecasting, and risk management advice
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear, professional communication
  • Support and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors as required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and best-practice delivery within the business

Skills And Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
  • Strong capability in cost planning, estimating, contract administration, and financial management
  • Demonstrated experience in the New Zealand construction market
  • Prior experience within a QS consultancy (preferred, but not essential)
  • Ability to provide clear, confident, and professional advice to clients
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting relationships
  • Self-motivated and committed to delivering high-quality work.
